Call for Abstracts
The 27th Mustelid Colloquium will be held from 18th November until 20th November 2009 (Field trip 20th November) in Lisbon, Portugal at the Faculty of Sciences Foundation of Lisbon University (FFCUL).
The local Organising Committee is now accepting abstracts for oral and poster presentations.
The scientific program includes invited plenary speakers, contributing presentations and poster sessions. Both oral and poster presentations are strongly encouraged. All oral presentations will be assigned to one of the following topics:
- Mustelid distribution and status
- Mustelid ecology
- Mustelid genetics
- Mustelid interactions
- Mustelid conservation and management
Depending on the number, posters are expected to be displayed during the all meeting to promote variable viewing times.
General Instructions for Abstract Submissions (NEW)
The abstract should include new information, not presented in similar meetings. It should include: a brief introduction on the topic of research; its importance; brief description of the methods; major results; and the conclusions of the research. Abstracts that state "results will be discussed" will not be accepted. Please include a proposed Topic session where your presentation should be included in.
All abstracts must be received by September 30 2009.
The Scientific committee will select the most interesting presentations. Some oral presentations may be a posteriori changed to poster presentations. The local Organising Committee will attempt to notify all authors of the peer review selection process results by September 2009.
Abstracts should be sent to mustelid2009@fc.ul.pt using the official 27th Mustelid Colloquium Abstract Form.
Official Abstract Format
Your abstract should be in the following format: authors (in capital letters), title of presenter, topic area of paper (see Colloquium list), title of presentation (maximum of 12 words) and the abstract text (maximum of 250 words). When submitting please indicate in the e-mail: your name, affiliation, preferred format of the presentation (oral/poster), type of audio visual required (overhead, VHS, slide projector, LCD projector).
General Instructions for Oral Presentations
Oral presentations will be given a TOTAL of 20 minutes, including approximately 2 to 3 minutes for questions at the end of your talk. PowerPoint presentations will be preferred, although slide and overhead projectors will be available. An LCD projector and computer will be provided.
- Load your presentation before your session starts;
- If you cannot use PowerPoint please inform the Local Organisation to provide for audiovisual support needs;
- Please make sure your audiovisuals are easily read, we recommend at least 16pts as font size. If you use an unusual font/character, make sure you bring your font to prevent formatting errors.
General Instructions for Poster Presentations
Poster sizes: 90 cm wide and 120cm height.
